Do I need roofing experience to open a Brennan Roofing franchise?
No. You need to know how to run a business, manage people, and hold a standard. We train you on the roofing side: estimating, materials, install methods, inspections, and what a done-right roof actually looks like up close. Many of our strongest owners came from operations, sales, or project management backgrounds, not from carrying shingles. What we can’t train is the discipline to show up on time and keep your word. That part has to already be in you.
What does the total investment range look like?
Most owners should plan for a total investment between $150,000 and $300,000 depending on your market, truck and equipment needs, initial inventory, and the space you lease. That range covers the franchise fee, startup equipment, initial marketing to get your first calls, working capital, and training. We put every number on paper before you commit, same as we do for a homeowner before a roof goes on. No surprises at the closing table.
Can I finance the startup costs?
Many of our owners use SBA-backed loans, conventional business loans, or existing equity to fund their location. We do not finance franchises directly, but we will walk you through what lenders typically need and connect you with financing partners who have worked with roofing and home service franchises before. Your written franchise disclosure document gives you the numbers a lender will ask for. From there, it’s a conversation between you and your bank.
Will I have an exclusive territory?
Yes. Every Brennan Roofing owner gets a defined territory, drawn around real market conditions: population, housing stock, drive times, and where roofing demand actually lives. We do not stack locations on top of each other. If you build a strong reputation in your territory, that business belongs to you, and no other Brennan Roofing location will be sold inside those lines.
How long is the initial training program?
Training runs three weeks: one week in the field, one week in the office on estimating and pricing, and one week on operations, hiring, and the Garrison Code. You’ll spend time on real roofs with real crews, learn how we price jobs in writing before work starts, and understand how the 365-Day Done Right Promise works from both the homeowner’s side and the owner’s side. After training, you’re not cut loose. Your first months include regular check-ins with our operations team.
Are there ongoing fees or royalties?
There is a monthly royalty and a marketing contribution, both described in detail in the franchise disclosure document. The rates are structured so your incentive to grow and our incentive to support you point in the same direction. We’re not interested in owners who barely survive while we collect a check. A healthy Brennan Roofing location makes money for you first.
How long does it take from signing to opening my doors?
Most owners open within 90 to 120 days after signing. That window covers territory mapping, training, securing your location or storage, getting your first materials accounts set up, and launching your local marketing. Some markets move faster, some slower depending on permitting and equipment lead times. We’d rather you open two weeks later and run clean than open early and fumble your first jobs.
What ongoing support does Brennan Roofing provide after opening?
You get support on estimating, material sourcing from manufacturers including GAF, CertainTeed, Owens Corning, IKO, Atlas, Tamko, and Boral, hiring and background-checking technicians, marketing your local market, and handling warranty work under the 365-Day Done Right Promise.
